- 20:29U.S. SEC Seeks Public Comment on Proposal to Convert Gray Litecoin Trust into an ETFThe U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) seeks public comment on a proposal to convert the Grayscale Litecoin Trust into an exchange-traded product. In a filing on Thursday, the SEC accepted an application submitted by the New York Stock Exchange Arca on behalf of Grayscale and asked that the comments be submitted within 21 days of publication in the Federal Register. The agency can decide to approve, reject or “institute proceedings”.
- 20:28Ethernet's Pectra upgrade will begin testing in February, with the upgrade expected to hit the main Ethernet network in AprilThe “Pectra” upgrade for ethereum will be available on the Holesky and Sepolia test networks in February and March, and will include a number of improvements, with a particular focus on wallets and authenticators. If these tests are successful, developers will reconvene on March 6 to determine when the upgrade will officially launch. Some developers are now saying it could hit the mainnet in early April. pectra is a hybrid term for two separate upgrades, Prague and Electra, containing eight major improvements to the second-largest blockchain. The most anticipated of these is EIP-7702, which is designed to improve the user experience of crypto wallets.Another major feature of Pectra, EIP-7251, will allow verifiers to increase the amount of their pledges - from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH.

I think the biggest reason for that is Gensler's vague definition of ETH, and he sued Consensys, is ETH a security or not? So there's been some regulatory pressure on Ether.” Discussing the investment narrative of Ether and how it differs from Bitcoin, Novogratz said that Bitcoin has attracted increasing media attention since President Donald Trump spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference last summer. He said, “Most of the market capitalization of ethereum right now is a store of value, but what's keeping people focused on it is the web3 story, and the reality of all crypto ecosystems is that stories bring enthusiasm, and enthusiasm creates value.”
