Trump-backed World Liberty Financial named Dolomite co-founder Corey Caplan as an advisor for the project.
Caplan co-founded Dolomite, a DeFi platform that describes itself as a next-generation money market platform and decentralized exchange. It was launched on Arbitrum One in October 2022 and has since expanded its presence to other blockchain ecosystems — including Polygon's zkEVM, Mantle, and X Layer — and offers a variety of services, including margin trading, lending, and portfolio management.
World Liberty Financial is the yet-to-be-launched crypto project promoted by Donald Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Jr. It's also supported by Donald Trump, who recently posted about World Liberty Financial on X, tagging the project and sharing a video in which the former president vows to ensure that the United States will be the “crypto capital of the planet.”
The precise details of the project, including what services it will offer and how exactly the Trump family is involved, remain unclear.
World Liberty Financial teased the announcement of additional team members in the coming days, calling the news of Caplan’s collaboration with the project “the first of many.”
Over the last several months, the Trump campaign has made numerous overtures to the crypto community, including speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville. Trump has also launched NFT collections and opened his campaign to accepting donations in crypto.
