Galaxy Research Director: Bitcoin ETF options will reduce volatility and increase the BTC investor base
According to Bloomberg, Alex Thorn, the research director of Galaxy Digital, stated that the listing of options for BlackRock's IBIT with a scale of 43 billion dollars could reduce volatility and increase the base of Bitcoin investors.
In an interview on Tuesday, Thorn said: "Over time, as it is held more widely, volatility will decrease. Options will help curb volatility and as volatility decreases people can hold larger positions." Nasdaq began offering options trading for ETFs for the first time on Tuesday. Thorn indicated that if volatility decreases more investors would view Bitcoin as a basic use case rather than just high-risk betting.
He said that options would allow institutions to hedge more against Bitcoin and increase liquidity while also affecting retail trading during bull markets. He added that the crypto industry still needs to figure out how to maintain control when traditional finance enters this field.
