The head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia (FTS) Daniil Egorov said that since November 1, about 150 applications for registration have been submitted to the special register of miners. As the head of the department said, work with individuals and legal entities engaged in cryptocurrency mining is at the initial stage.
According to him, the tax system for companies and individuals is fundamentally different, so the regulation of the mining industry will be carried out consistently and carefully.
The official emphasized that no one is going to rush in this regard; issues of interaction with the Ministry of Energy, concerning the part of energy management, will be resolved in the course of business.
According to Daniil Egorov, despite the fact that the number of applications has barely exceeded a hundred, this is a start, and the department expects that in the medium term their number will increase, given that the legislation regulating mining is already in effect.
Let us recall that, according to the provisions of the law on the circulation of digital assets, legal entities and individuals are required to register in a special register of the Federal Tax Service. At the same time, the Russian government made an exception for private miners.
Individuals have the right to engage in mining within the government-established electricity limit of 6 thousand kWh per month without being included in the register.
