The court once again extended the term of arrest of blogger Valeria Fedyakina (Bitmama) in the case of especially large-scale fraud, so she will remain in custody for another six months. Her arrest has already been extended several times, most recently until December 15 of this year.
As the prosecutor stated at the court hearing, all the stolen property in the Bitmama case has not yet been identified or seized within the framework of the current criminal legislation.
Let us recall that Valeria Fedyakina was arrested in early September 2023 on charges of fraud in the field of cryptocurrency investment. The statement against Bitmama was written by one of her investors, who is currently under state protection, having previously transferred her cash in the amount of over 6 billion rubles.
He is recognized as a victim. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale"). If the court finds Bitmama guilty, she could spend up to 10 years behind bars. Bitmama does not admit guilt in the crime and claims that she herself is a victim of fraudsters who owe her a large sum.
It is possible that the court will take into account the fact that Valeria Fedyakina has a small daughter and will soften the sentence.
