Injective and SVM Sonic to launch crosschain AI agent hub in 2025
Injective (CRYPTO:INJ) and Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) blockchain Sonic have announced the upcoming launch of the Smart Agent Hub, a crosschain AI platform.
Set for initial testnet deployment in the first quarter of 2025, the hub will allow developers to integrate AI agents built on the SVM with Injective’s decentralised ecosystem.
The platform will provide opportunities for developers to monetise their AI agents through tokenisation and fractional ownership.
The integration will use Sonic's infrastructure and the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol to link the Injective WebAssembly blockchain with Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), allowing for seamless deployment of Solana-based AI agent applications on Injective.
Additionally, a bridge will facilitate the transfer of SOL and Solana-based tokens, alongside wrapped and native Injective tokens.
This partnership follows Injective's introduction of the iAgent software development kit, which leverages OpenAI technology to enable AI agents to analyse data, predict trends, and execute trades.
"This further cements Injective’s vision of a Multi-VM future where any developer can build any agent using their choice of top VMs," Injective stated in the announcement.
The AI agent market, valued at $11.2 billion, is showing strong growth potential, with Fetch.ai and Virtuals Protocol accounting for a large share.
This stands in contrast to larger sectors such as decentralised finance and stablecoins, which have market caps of $145 billion and $208 billion, respectively.
Injective and Sonic are not alone in recognising this opportunity.
Coinbase launched the Based Agent AI tool for agent-building in October, while Near Protocol's Near Intents is currently in beta, offering cryptocurrency trading and cross-chain connectivity.
At the time of reporting, the Injective (INJ) price was $21.35.
