In the Irkutsk region have passed raids on unregistered mining farms, in which employees of the Investigative Committee and representatives of energy supply companies took part.

In particular, power engineers and law enforcement officers checked a facility in a small industrial zone behind the City of Masters market in Irkutsk, whose electricity usage schedule showed signs of mining activity. During the inspection of the area, a container was found in which almost 200 cryptocurrency mining devices were operating.

According to experts, the farm consumed over 600 kWh of electricity per month, which is comparable to the energy consumption of 000-80 private homes. The miner was not included in the register of persons mining cryptocurrency, so it was disconnected from the network.

According to available information, the owner of the mining farm is a legal entity, the owner was explained the procedure for legalizing cryptocurrency mining activities so as not to disconnect the equipment from the power grid in the future. As energy workers indicated, such raids will be carried out on an ongoing basis.

Let us recall that on November 1, regulations on mining came into force in Russia. Control over the industry was assigned to the Federal Tax Service. All legal entities that are miners must provide data on mined assets and cryptocurrency addresses used to a special FTS register. Individuals can mine within the electricity limit set by the authorities at 6 thousand kWh per month.
