While more advisers are open to crypto, many still face challenges.

A recent Bitwise survey revealed a major change in stance for US investors. US financial investors, who have been mostly cautious about cryptocurrency investments, are reportedly reconsidering investing in the asset following Trump’s return to office.

Donald Trump made crypto and Bitcoin a huge part of his campaign. His victory in November awakened mainstream interest in cryptocurrencies.

(Spoiler: They’re more bullish than ever)

The recent Bitwise report revealed that 56% of US investors feel more confident about investing in cryptocurrencies since the November elections.

Why the Increased Interest?

A huge reason for the renewed optimism around crypto investments is anticipation that Trump could introduce more crypto-friendly policies. The crypto industry struggled to thrive under the Biden administration due to enforcement actions by regulators such as the SEC and CFTC.

Some experts expect Trump to designate Bitcoin as a US reserve asset. These factors have contributed to financial advisors recording notable interest in crypto investments from their clients.

Matt Hougan, Bitwise’s chief investment officer, said advisers are finally seeing crypto’s potential and investing more than ever. Interestingly, 71% of advisers also said their clients are buying crypto on their own. Bitwise sees this as a chance for advisers to help clients include crypto in their financial plans.

CLIENT INTEREST IS STRONGER THAN EVER

96% of advisors received a question about crypto from clients last year.

While more advisers are open to crypto, many still face challenges. Only 35% said they could buy crypto directly for their clients. Bitwise believed this could be a major roadblock to wider adoption.
