The United States will become a key market for The Open Network (TON) blockchain under the new administration of President-elect Donald Trump, a representative of the TON Foundation announced.
It is known that in the US the project will be headed by the recently appointed president and board member of the TON Foundation, Manuel Stotz.
The United States is one of the largest financial centers in the world, and we see great potential for its development as a cryptocurrency hub. This will facilitate and support the adoption of digital assets in retail, Stotz said.
The expansion into the US will be a major event in the history of The Open Network blockchain, which was initially associated with the co-founders Telegram Pavel and Nikolay Durov. In May 2020 Telegram was forced to stop participating in the project and subsequently close the TON test network after a multi-year legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission over the Tоncoin and Gram tokens.
Despite the fact that Telegram distanced himself from the TON Foundation, the TON blockchain and the Toncoin cryptocurrency, Pavel Durov has repeatedly expressed support for the project.
