DeepSeek GitHub stars surpass OpenAI

News on February 7th, the DeepSeek project has surpassed OpenAI in star count on GitHub, the world's largest code hosting platform. As of two o'clock Friday afternoon, the most popular project under DeepSeek, DeepSeek-V3 large model, has reached 77.7 thousand stars, surpassing the most popular project of OpenAI on the same platform. In addition to this, Llama series which also belongs to open-source large models reached a maximum star count of 57.5 thousand; Alibaba Cloud's Qwen2.5 has 14.9 thousand stars and Zero One Wanwu's Yi has 7800 stars.
