US man forged 30,000 fake IDs and made $1.4 million in Bitcoin
According to a report by DL News on February 7th, James Watt, a man from Indiana, USA, was sentenced to three years probation for forging about 30,000 fake IDs. Court documents show that Watt worked for an unnamed website that claims to be the "most trustworthy source of fake IDs". Over the course of four years, Watt received 14 bitcoins (about $1.4 million) as compensation. When law enforcement searched his residence, they found a forged Missouri ID card with the name "Thor Sol" and an address on "Big Hammer Way", demonstrating his exquisite counterfeiting skills. The US Department of Justice has seized his illegal gains in accordance with a court order.
