Trump revealed how Elon helped enforce executive orders that were being blocked by government bureaucracy.

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk sat down with Sean Hannity on Fox News for a rare joint interview on Tuesday, where they discussed their unexpected close friendship, past lawsuits, political battles, and the media’s attempts to drive them apart.

Right from the start, Hannity brought up Trump’s lawsuit against Twitter, which he filed years before Elon acquired the platform, and the case ended with Trump winning a $10 million settlement. “They really did a number on me,” Trump said, referring to Twitter’s previous management (Jack Dorsey) banning him. “So I sued, and they had to pay.”

Elon responded, “I left it up to the lawyers. They did what they thought made sense.” Trump grinned and said, “I was looking for a lot more than that. He got a big discount. I don’t even think he knows about it.”

As the conversation moved to their personal relationship, Hannity brought up Elon’s D.O.G.E, naturally. “I think President Trump is a good man,” Elon said, adding that he had spent enough time with him to know that media portrayals of Trump as cruel or unethical were completely false. “I’ve never once seen him do something mean or wrong. Not once.”

Trump jumped in. “Nobody has been attacked like me,” he said. “We’ve talked about it. 98% of the media coverage about me is negative, and yet, here we are.” Elon agreed with his friend, calling out the media’s obsession with painting Trump in a bad light.

Then, Hannity brought up something more personal—attempts to divide them. He pointed out that the press had started pushing a narrative that Elon and Trump were at odds, even floating the idea that Elon could run for president himself.

Trump laughed, saying, “They said, ‘Breaking news! Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk.’ Can you believe it?” Elon smirked. “It’s so obvious when they try to do this, very transparent. The mainstream media is really bad at their job.”

Elon enforces Trump’s executive orders, calls out government resistance

The Hannity interview also touched up on the fact that Elon has been directly involved in enforcing Trump’s executive orders.

“The president makes these orders, and they just don’t get carried out,” Elon said. “There’s a rogue bureaucracy that blocks what the American people actually voted for.” He cited a recent example—Trump’s order to stop taxpayer-funded luxury hotels for illegal immigrants.

“People don’t want their tax dollars funding five-star hotels for illegals. But even as late as last week, it was still happening,” Elon said. “We had to go in and force agencies to comply.”

Trump nodded, saying, “This is what people don’t understand. You think signing an order means it gets done. But they stall, delay, resist.” He added that Elon’s intervention had been crucial in breaking through bureaucratic red tape.

Elon, grinning, leaned into the moment. “That’s why my shirts and my X bio say ‘Tech Support.’ I’m just here to help, man.”

Hannity then asked if Trump’s orders would eventually be codified into law. “Yes, and they will be,” Trump replied. “That’s why I like doing it right at the beginning. We have four years.”

Trump reveals Elon’s role in NASA rescue mission

Hannity turned the conversation to Elon’s space ventures, specifically SpaceX and Starlink. Trump shared a story about how he first learned of Starlink.

“I was in North Carolina after a disaster,” the US president recalled fondly. “No communication. People were dying. Somebody said, ‘You know Elon Musk. Can you get Starlink?’ I called Elon, and he sent thousands of units immediately. It saved a lot of lives that day.”

Elon nodded. “Same thing happened in California after the wildfires. They had no communication, people were starving,” he said.

Then Hannity brought up another stunning revelation—Elon is currently preparing a NASA rescue mission for two astronauts stranded in space.

“They were supposed to be there for eight days. It’s been 300,” Elon said. “They got left up there for political reasons, which is not good.”

Trump shook his head. “Biden didn’t want the bad publicity, so they were just going to leave them up there,” he said. “Can you believe it?”

Elon confirmed that the rescue mission was now scheduled for four weeks from now. “We’ve brought astronauts back many times before. As long as we’re not complacent, this will be successful,” he said.

Before the Tuesday interview wrapped up, Hannity pointed out that Elon has been working for free, something unheard of for a billionaire of his status.

“Nobody at D.O.G.E gets paid a penny,” Hannity said. Elon said, “Many of my engineers could be making millions in the private sector, but they’re working for a fraction of that as federal employees. They’re committed to fixing things.”

Hannity also mentioned how liberals used to love Elon for his electric vehicle company, but things changed when he started aligning with Trump.

“I used to be adored by the left,” Elon said. “Less so these days.” He described how his support for Trump had made him a target for backlash, even in social settings.

“I was at an event I had been invited to a year before,” Elon said. “I walked in, and suddenly I was getting death stares. If looks could kill, I’d be dead several times over.”

“I happened to mention the president’s name and it was like they got shot with a dart in the jugular that contained like methamphetamine and rabies,” Elon said in the Tuesday night interview while recounting a situation where he mentioned Trump’s name at a dinner party and quickly received pushback.

“It’s like they’ve become completely irrational,” Elon said, adding in the interview that he didn’t realize the severity of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was until he attended that dinner party.

Hannity asked Trump what he thought about Elon’s work. “I searched all over for someone smarter than him,” Trump joked. “Couldn’t find one.”

Elon laughed, saying “We settled on this guy,” as he pointed at himself.
