Using his pocket-sized Bitaxe machine, this miner single-handedly mined a block of BTC and earned around $263,000.
This miner became the 297th solo miner to mine a Bitcoin block from the solo.ckpool Bitcoin mining pool.
Mining pool developer Con Kolivas congratulated the miner, saying that the miner was using a 480 gigahashes per second (GH/s) Bitaxe machine, which is a very, very simple machine compared to the machines that can run at over 230,000 GH/s used by many major crypto mining companies.
Congratulations to the super lucky miner who solved the 297th solo block on solo.ckpool with a 480GH bitaxe with only 3.3TH!
The chance of a miner of this size finding a block per day is less than one in a million, or alternatively, it would take 3,500 years on average to find a block.”
Bitcoin blocks are produced approximately every 10 minutes and are typically mined by mining pools that have the highest chance of winning the block reward. The reward for successfully mining a block is currently 3,125 Bitcoins after a halving event earlier this year.
