Golden Finance reports that Hyper Foundation has announced in X that the validator set of the Hyperliquid mainnet will be fully permissionless after the next network upgrade, similar to the testnet. The top N validators ranked by staking amount will form an active set. Initially, N is set to 20 and will gradually increase over time. In addition, Hyperliquid has now launched a Delegation Program aimed at enhancing network security and decentralization, and supporting validators committed to ecosystem development. Officials suggest that validators familiarize themselves with the testnet and understand relevant technical details before running mainnet nodes. It's worth noting that self-staked pledges of 10,000 HYPE tokens will be locked by protocol for one year even if validators fail to enter into an active set; this lock still applies. The Hyper Foundation strongly advises validators to apply for participation in the delegation program before running mainnet nodes.
